FROM FUNDAMENTALS TO FIGHTING SKILLS
May 19 or June 15
LIVE-FIRE TRANSITION COURSE - Combat shooting skills for new and experienced handgun shooters.
Take your pick of the two-hour class or the three-hour class. The first two hours start with gun handling and marksmanship skills taught at the Police Academy - good for all levels of experience. The third hour (optional purchase, but must include the first two) transitions from fundamentals into basic tactical fighting skills. Two hour minimum at $65 per hour. Get your Oregon Concealed Handgun License training certificate for $35 extra. Instructor is a certified police firearms instructor. Website: www.firearmsinstructor.us.

THREAT MANAGEMENT FOR PERSONAL DEFENSE
PRESENTED BY TWO EXPERTS - a lawyer and police trainer, and a public safety and civilian self defense instructor - attorney and police firearms instructor Steve Eichelberger, and decorated former deputy sheriff and civilian self defense instructor Jesse Lawn, author of the book Recognizing and Managing Aggression.
You will learn practical legal and tactical principles of self-defense, and how to defend yourself whether you are armed or not. You will learn when it is appropriate to "cross the line" between pre-incident events and the actual use of force. You will participate in short scenario-based role-play drills where you learn how to recognize pre-assault indicators, and how to manage the first few moments of a violent attack with defensive countermeasures. You will also learn legal and psychological skills to survive the aftermath.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
1. Managing Threats - basic use of force principles with hands-on physical scenarios
2. Managing Lethal Threats - deadly force principles with hands-on physical scenarios and simulated shoot / don't shoot decision-making, using replica weapons (no live weapons in classroom)
3. Manage Any Threat With What You Have - scenario problem solving
